Editors, Proceedings of ATCM98

All contributed papers appearing in the Proceedings/Electronic Proceedings of ATCM98 are reviewed by peers in the mathematics and computer science communities. Without their time and effort, we would not be able to complete the rigorous review process to present to you an excellent collection of papers at ATCM98 and in both the Proceedings and Electronic Proceedings. Their names are listed in alphabetical order.

Tsukuba Science City was built about 30 years ago as a science town, and it contains many national and private institutes. The University of Tsukuba is located in the center of the city.

Tsukuba Science City is 60 km north-north-east of Tokyo and 60 km north-west of Narita Intn'l Airport. We have bus service between Narita Intn'l Airport and Tsukuba Science City. We have also highway bus service between Tokyo Station and Tsukuba Science City, which is very frequent and convenient.

Getting Around: Tsukuba, Tokyo and the Tokyo International Airport at Narita (we recommend that you fly into this airport)

The city of Tsukuba, the Tokyo International Airport at Narita and Tokyo are vertices of a regular triangle. Traveling between any two vertices on public bus transportation may take one hour or an hour and a half.

Between Narita and Tsukuba

We recommend you take the public bus and it is the most economic way to travel between these two points. Following is the bus time table.

Narita Airport to Tsukuba Center:  8:20,  10:50,  11:30,  14:30  16:30,  18:40
Tsukuba Center to Narita Airport:  6:30,  7:20,  11:20,  13:20,  14:50,  17:30
One-way fare is 2,540 yen or about $20US.

Between Tokyo and Tsukuba

If you want to move between Tokyo and Tsukuba, we recommend you to use public bus transportation between Yaesu Minami Bus Terminal at Tokyo St. and Tsukuba Center (destination points). The bus departs from each of the two destination points every 12 minutes. One way cost is 1,260 yen, or if you buy a book of 5 coupons it will be 1,050 yen each. We do not recommend that you arrive at Tsukuba Center at or past midnight. There are no transportations but only a few taxis.

How to go to your accommodation in Tsukuba

Dai-ich Hotel is located at the Tsukuba Center. To go to the Hotel Sunroute Tsukuba and the Tsukuba Research Center (in Japanese 'TSUKUBA KENSYU Center') you should take a taxi. It may be 650 yen or more. There are several dormitories and we will inform you after your registration in the case of dormitories.

If you have questions or need more details, please contact Prof. T. Sasaki sasaki@math.tsukuba.ac.jp or Prof. W.C. Yang wyang@runet.edu
