Computer Algebra and Partial Differential Equations

Abstract
First, the author gives an overview on the computer algebraic study of
partial differential equation.
Second, he introduces a new hybrid symbolic-numeric method
and gives a scheme to construct an approximate general solution.
His techniques are likely to have wide applicability,
since the key idea of the algorithm is
a rearrangement of the finite difference method.
Third, he shows several practical examples;
he constructs approximate general solutions
to heat equation, Laplace equation, etc.
