Abstract
This 2 hour workshop will introduce you to MathView, a symbolic algebra
package which can be used for learning, exploring, and doing
mathematics. Its capabilities range from symbolic manipulation to
numeric calculations to 2D and 3D graphing. This session will also
introduce Waterloo Maple's vision of the future of math education.
With the availability of computers in the classroom, teaching
techniques can be augmented with the powerful capabilities of
mathematics software. MathView enables students to easily visualize
mathematical concepts and explore new ideas. MathView Internet, a
Netscape plug-in included with the product, allows teachers to
incorporate live mathematics into web pages and publish them for
everyone to use.
